A customer requested a gaucho style knife. My research on gaucho knives, show that they are typically integrals with hidden tang stag handles. Not having the skill set to attempt an integral knife yet, I design the knife to suit my building practices. I also modeled the knife from a photo of a Boker Gaucho found on the A.G. Russell website.
What would you call this knife?
Here are the specs:
5-1/4" Blade (front of bolster to tip) with a 4-1/2" Cutting edge
9-3/4" Overall
1” Blade height and 1/8” thick at the ricasso
O1 Tool Steel Heat Treated to RC58-59
2500 grit hand rubbed blade finish
Amber deep dyed and jigged Camel bone handle
416 Stainless dovetailed bolsters and pins.
8-9oz Leather hand tooled and stitched sheath
This was my first attempt at creating an image rather then just posting the actual photos.
Comments are welcome as always. Thank you for looking,
