I haven't yet.But I have all the right parts.Went out after talking to you & purchased a 50.00 propane set up-the 8000 series tip[.I have about 6 more stainless steel blades to build up & then I will give it a whirl.I'm sure it will work fine.I ordered a piece of high carbon steel from Texas Knife Co. & cant wait until I start on those.Boy all of you people on this site are life savers.I'm 57 years old & I've wanted to build a knife since I was in my teens.Started looking on this site last winter & couldn't have done it with out a lot of help from the tradgangers.A great big thanks from me to all you that have helped.I am most definitely HOOKED!!!!
