This one is ALOT Smoother than the last one. I also did some cleanup before quenching that helped the end product. I have read alot about how rr knives aren't efficient. After quenching this one my double bastard file would barely take metal off the edge so I know it's hard enough. I was shocked I got it that sharp and that was with a belt sander.
things I learnt.
1. Adding more coal don't make a difference it just means your going to burn more coal. Coop helped with this revelation.
2.Machinist vises SUCK for smith work especially when screwed to a table that is not attached to something heavy. You then have to wrap your leg around the leg of the table and use both habds on the vise.
3. Take your time and actually listen to the advice given. Most of the time it helps.
4. Even though the blade profile may look like hell after forging. After shaping it on a belt sander it may turn out ok.
