Thanks guys. These things are a booger to get right. I have to refer to my drawing often and with each part.

Lin, can you tell us about how long it takes you to build a knife like that, from forge to finsh?
Thanks Dana

It takes a hard week, but there is some down time, so I work on something else while it sits in the oven or epoxy cures, etc. That's if everything goes right. The more a knife is complicated by size, geometry, or just being difficult, the more likely it becomes a closet knife. Taking this much time and materials causes one to be careful. I dont see how anyone can make a knife of any complexity can not work from a drawing and have the knife turn out like what is in the mind. Too many thing fightin ya.

There is something about the shape of your blade that is so frighteningly appealing! Beautiful knife!

Beautiful craftsmanship there Lin. Every line of it is outstanding. Was it done as a commissioned piece, for yourself or do you now offer pieces like that for sale.

Thanks guys. This was a commissioned piece. I have since practically stopped taking commissions except for a few special projects. I have to get caught up. I like to be able to develope some ideas I have and I dont try to push my work here on TG, just show it if anyone cares to see it. I certainly dont mind you asking me questions though Tony. If you like you can email me as well.
