Osage camp knife
« on: April 03, 2011, 11:18:00 PM »
This is another camp chopper I just finished for the OKCA show in a week.
I used copper pins and tubing, I think it compliments the color of the wood nicely.    :)
Handle is toasted Osage
OAL is 11.5"
Blade is 6.5"

Thanks for looking!

very nice - what steel is it?  what are you doing to get it to look so weathered?

I like that chopper a lot, how do you do the mustard patina? Just spread it on or is there something special to it.

Just make sure the blade is very clean, then apply it in a pattern you like. I usually let it sit for at least 4hrs, then wash it off with warm water and soap.
