Knife making Stuff and customer service
« on: April 12, 2011, 07:39:00 PM »
Some time ago I purchased a "Riverside Moran Vise" from Riverside Machine Shop, AKA Uncle Al's.  I used the heck out of that vise to the point that I stripped the threads on one of the bolts, I recently emailed Uncle Al asking if he would repair it.  He replyed right away and told me to send it to him. I also asked him to evaluate the repair and advise whether to repair or replace.

Today, I received the vise better than when it was new, and at no charge!

Now that, is good customer service!!!  I have bought supplys from Riverside in the past and will certainly continue!  And I would encourage you all to check out Uncle Al's too.

Thanks Mr. Lawrence

Steve check this out!
I was trying to make test knives and was having trouble with the so called perfect fit of the guard.Of course I blamed it on the equipment (LOL)
It was Al's file guide I was useing and I needed to have the knives finished for some guys to look at.I called him,he said no problem and express mailed me a new one the next day,and said send the other file guide in and we will look it over.
Long story short is, he fixed the original file guide and I sent the other one back (no charge)
thats what I call service!!
By the way there wasn't much wrong with the file guide mostly the operater.LOL

Kevin, I almost always blame it on equipment!  But in my case it is always operator error for sure!!

Yep, I'm impressed with Uncle Al!

BTW Kevin have fun at "Blade" and good luck!  It will be nice to see the new "Stamp" on your blades!
