Question on honey horn material

I bought some honey horn for a handle and not sure how it will sand or finsh out, can someone give me some insight

As far as I know it is just highly figured buffalo horn. My experience with any buffalo horn with bark or nice streaking is to wok it very close to finished thickness from the side that will be against the knife so that you maintain as much of the streaking or bark as you can.

Thanks, this horn has been cut and sanded some, so it looks like glass in some spots, it black/brown with yellow stricks. do you finsh horn out with sanding It like wood? What do you to polish it out?

Sand it finer and finer. Dont buff it unless very lightly, it'll burn.
