I guess I should have known better...but a friend gave me a piece of cable damascus that he forged welded. This little blade started out 2-3 times bigger! As you can see in the starting cable there are fault lines that didn't weld up. As I was forging I kept trying to flux and re-weld. Then during grinding, I kept discovering more unwelded areas. You can see I almost had to grind into my stamp and keep grinding the tip off. It was kinda like grinding an Artichoke
Anyway I got a small necker out of the deal. The pattern is nice but very subtle as there aren't any contrasting steels in it. With faults still present, I added a lanyard hole for para-cord cause I won't even bother putting a handle on this one. It will be awhile before I do another cable damascus. Frustrating blade..tippit
