Few pictures from this past weekend.
« on: January 29, 2008, 01:44:00 PM »
First time trying to post pictures here, we will see if it comes out correct.

These were taken at my parent's place in northwest Ohio.  The highest count for the evening was 91 present in the field at one time, these were all taken from the back window of the house, the nearest corners of the field are not visable so there could have been more.  This happens every year about this time.

Thanks for the pics.  This weather has them really focusing on the available food.  It's been warm enough the last couple days to get them out in the fields looking for some fresh growth or rooting for the leftover corn.  Times like this I am very glad to be human and have fairly easy access to food and a nice warm, dry bed at night.
Take a kid hunting!

Hunting the area isn't quite as easy as it may look, for the most part we only have access to hunt in the fence rows in that area.  With the wind and that may eyes it can be difficult to get into bow range.

Matt one of my best hunting spots was a horse farm here in Jersey. The owner let the care taker plant winter wheat because he loved to Goose Hunt.I'll never forget the first time I hunted that field.About an hour before dark the deer came out of the little hedgerows and woodlots.I was suprised to learn when they came out into the field they keep the wind at their backs[to smell what was behind them]and used thier eyes to focus on and scan the open field. I practicaly cryed when The owner said we couldn't hunt there anymore. Thanks for sharing those pictures with us man did they bring back memories on a much smaller scale.
