« on: September 18, 2011, 12:49:00 PM »
i have an old muzzleloader stock i screwed up. and its fancy or extra fancy curly maple(cant remember) i would like to make a knife. im not intrested in making my own blade. i want to get a blade and do the handle myself. i dont even know where to start or how hard it is to do that? i want to make a smaller knife no longer than 3in blade and small, slim handle. this knife will be used for hunting/ skinning.

There are several ways of mounting the blade to the handle, but I believe these to be the two most common.

Making a hidden tang knife from a set of scales.

Making a hidden tang using 1 block of wood, which is what I use.

Good luck building  :)
