Custom Swedish 5160 Hunter
« on: November 08, 2011, 09:48:00 AM »
Here is a blade that I got from a friend of mine and knifemaker in Sweden. 5160 with dyed maple burl scales copper & nickel silver mosaic pins and a copper tube and rust colored liners. This sucker is 1/4" thick, 4" blade and 8-5/8" OAL. Not to mention it's sharp...VERY sharp.

Correction: 5160 carbon.

Nice and about the perfect size IMHO. The first thing I noticed is how thick it is.  Then I read your comment.  It really is nice.

Really beautiful and functional looking knife. You did a wonderful job, Clarence, as you always do! One thing I have come to appreciate on full tang blades is a tapered tang that will move the center of gravity forward and give a somewhat more pleasing appearance. Other than that, the blade shape is exceptionally nice and will undoubtedly serve the owner very well. BTW, I do realize you did not make the blade, Clarence. Just saying ....

Clarence,

You are right about the Craig Barr knife you posted. I have some more of Craig's blades that I need to send you to get handles. I keep telling you that, but I am going to really do it soon! You do a great job, and this knife (along with the other 3 you just posted) continues to prove how good you are at really dressing up a blade with a beautiful handle!!!
