My son's Christmas gift
« on: December 27, 2011, 03:35:00 AM »
I've had this knife done for a while now, but couldn't show it as Cam often visits this forum.  Finished the sheath about a week ago.

The knife is a damascus blank manufactured in the US, with Koa scales. The Koa was a block that was part of the box of wood I bought thru the St. Judes auction from Clarence. Knife is 6 3/8" OAL, with a 3" blade. Sheath is 8/9 oz veg tanned leather.

cheers, Dale

That is a wonderful looking knife. Curly Koa like that is one of my favorite woods, and it goes VERY well with Damascus. I have a beauty from Doug Campbell that has similar materials. Your son has got to be loving that present!

You have a good eye and a very steady hand. Both the basket weave stamping and the knife came out GREAT!

Dale,
Awsome! Very nice all around. I didn't know you where in to making knife and leather work. I might pick your brain next time we meet...
Well done!
Yves
