This is a nice little stag handled hunter.  A 1084 blade, 416 stainless guard and silicon bronze spacer and butt cap. [/url] [/IMG]

Very clean work Pete! Your fit and finish are something to aspire to. The transition from blade to guard at the spine is perfect.

not a huge fan of stag but you did a great job . the sheath is very unique i like it.  nice to see people creative side.

Beautiful work, Pete.  Very nice satin finish, the brass accents the lighter color in the stag, and your plunge/bevel transition is spectacular!  Nice to have you on Trad Gang!

That's right Barry!  :)   Pete's work is very clean. His hunters with stag taper handles are some of the nicest out there, as is this one.

Pete, great knife. How do you get the front and rear faces of the stag to be flat and perpendicular to the guard? I am wrestling with one right now and just can't seem to get a tight fit to my guard all the way around.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.  I appreciate the warm welcome.  This is a great forum.

Hi Gabriel, to fit the horn to the guard and butt cap I use a flat piece of granite, a little spray adhesive, sand paper and some elbow grease.  I pull the horn to me and apply pressure where needed.  I also mark the face of the horn that contacts the sand paper with a pencil to check where I am removing the material.
