Well I've heard some good and some bad about the show. I did ok      and I know some who sold out the first day, but there were some that did not sell a knife. It depends on who you ask. I will say that the money was slow to leave the wallet with lots of tire kicking. The crowd was fair on Friday and slightly less Saturday.

I picked up some handle material and visited with some of the TG members. That was nice. My buddy, Ray Hammond, was a highlight, along with several who are right here on the knife crafters forum.

The show was a really good time.  I agree with Lin about the crowd.  

 I appreciate a few TG members stopping by to say hello.  

My highlight was meeting and talking with Scott, man his work is awesome and he gave me some tips to improve my leather work.  How cool is that!

Wish I had photos but there are plenty around on other forums.

Its always nice visiting with Lin and Karl.

It was nice to finally meet Lin. I had a good time as this was my first blade show. It is indescribable the beauty and detail of Lin's, Karl's, and many other knife makers knives. I was in awe! Talked with ol' Karl a while. He is always a gas to visit with.

It was my first blade show and first time meeting several tradgangers. I had a wonderful experience and would do it again in a heartbeat . Alas I did not take any pics.

I try to have fun where ever I go, but Blade is my favorite. Maybe because the scene is so varied in people and new faces, old customers, materials, steels, ideas, etc.
I did miss seeing Doug and Karen again this year, but I did get to visit with them at my house earlier this year.
I missed seeing Dan Masson.
I did well sale-wise, sold a few, got a few orders, bought some "stuff", ate too much - twice, and I always enjoy the hours I get to spend talking to Don Hanson.
The makers I enjoy talking to are too many to list.
What a wonderful place to visit with friends from all across the country and even Europe and Australia.
Got to finally talk quite a bit with Sam Lurquin via translation, but we had a good time.
My mentor, Jerry Rados, brought a Damascus sub-hilt stag Bowie that will keep a person awake at night just thinking about it. That man has forgot more about knife making than most people will ever learn, no matter who they are.
The drive home is always filled with ideas about what to do next when I get back in the shop.
I was pleased to bring along Scott Teaschner and get him acquainted with the knife world.
He made some new friends and that was a success.
One of these days, Ray, one of these days.
Now, off to Compton's!

I had limited time this year because I'm walking around on a torn meniscus so I concentrated on Pocket knives, which are what I am into. I bought a few, and had a great time but an hour and a half was about all my knee could take. there's always next year

Got home and even more work showed up.LOL

The show was OK ,I sold two, the rest did not come home, went to the big sales people.

It was good to see Ray , he is one of the good guys.Nice to meet Scott and put a face with the posts he put on here. .In case you guys where wondering Scott's work is as good as the pictures.  
Seems like I am standing up talking with someone almost all the time,and when I'm not, I'm talking with Pete's Dad ,probably my highlight of the trip.He doesn't even make knives,but seems we have alot in common.LOL He is good people.
Yea ,Doug your name is brought up quite a bit ,especially when I saw a 62" tusk on a table. LOL You gotta try and make it next year.

You're right Doug, Sometimes I forget how blessed I am to live a 40 minute drive from the Blade show.

Just got in off the road drove 20 hours with a 4 hour nap. I am beat. This was a fast paced two weeks. I have to thank Karl right off the bat for everything he has done for me! Thanks Karl I would not be where I am at if it was not for you. Thanks for all the fine comments on my work it means alot. I see the word Master coming up with my name dont know how comfortable I am with that one! Much more to learn!  So much talent in this forum its scarry! I want one of every ones knives. I like to trade you know!
  It was so great to meat every one. I had a good time with Pete and his Dad. Pete and I did a little trading and I cant wait to get my new knife! Finaaly got to hold one of Lins knives and Kevins folders where pretty good examples of what you can do if you put your mind to it. So many people to many to list them all but it was great.

Got to run the graver at the GRS booth. I can see that becoming a bad habit in a hurry! Never ran one in my life but I felt I did fairly well and maybe would like give it a go at some point.

 Karl forged a blade for me while I was at his house. That was very cool learned a lot. Left with some steel to forge at home. I can see another bad habit forming?

 He then handed me the finished knife at Comptons I was just floored! Cant wait to try it out and get a sheath for it. Can any one recomend a good sheath maker?

 I got to get rested and back to work. Rap at you guys latter!

Scott, it was very nice to get to know you in person. I hope the Blade Show becomes a tradition for you.
