Ironwood Hunter With Hamon
« on: August 16, 2012, 10:43:00 PM »
I finished this knife over a month ago. Its hand forge W2 with 416SS and Ironwood. The sheath by Kenny Rowe fits great and is perfectly suited to the rugged hunts it will be on. I was hoping to be able to afford to have a pro photo of this one done before it got shipped to Colorado for Pronghorn, Elk Bear and Mule Deer. But with a thirteen year old starting school Monday funding was just not there. So I appologize in advance for the iPhone pic.

Thanks for taking the time to look and comments critiques and addvice allways appreciated.

Chris

That's a really clean knife. Chris.    You should be very happy with that one!

Thanks for the complements gentlemen. I do appreciate them. I also consider it a complement to hear it has some influence from Lin, because I would never have made a knife if it were not for Lin's influence. I am proud of this one and am pleased the new owner likes it also. The new owner being pleased with it is very important to me.

Having hunted with him my whole life and knowing this knife will be put to use on multiple critters every year pleases me and will be a great test of my control of the steel. He and his family routinely harvest 3-4 elk, almost as many deer, depending on the tag lottery and depredation hunts, and usually a bear or two. He may even use it on a hog or two that he raises to butcher.

Mr. H, I agree Coop does great work. I would like to get him to shoot some for me in the future. I have enjoyed hours of looking at his images.

I have had Chuck Ward shoot one for me before and have been very pleased with his work as well. It is also nice that Chuck's shop is about a mile from my work and that we have some very close mutual friends.

If I could afford it I would have every knife I do have a pro photo.

That's a very fine knife, great work.  Would love to have one just like it for my hunting in Wyoming and Missouri.
