Design Feedback- Dress Bowies

I have been spending more time designing on the computer rather than using pencil and french curves. I have a fondess for small bowies. Any feedback on designs is appreciated.

I like them both. The top one would certainly be a more comfortable and sure grip.

Just my 2 cents...

Personally, I like the top handle better.  I think the drop of the handle goes with the curve of the false edge better than the bottom one.  I also tend to like the curved choil from the blade up to the ricasso like you have pictured.  Not sure what I think about the guard-I think it might depend for me on the material?  Really like your blade shape-overall, bet it'll look pretty darned nice   .  Looking forward to seeing it.

(that is, if it is indeed narrower than the top blade as my eyes tell me it might be).

I agree exactly with Chuck. Bottom blade/top handle, plus add 1/2 inch to the handle length. Beautiful design!

I like the top one best............just stretch the blade to 9 1/2 inches

I like the handle on top as well... and the bottom blade- like Lin....it just looks more balanced that way.

I do think you need to put some height on that top portion of the guard.

One other thought that comes to mind is that clip-

can you shorten it? I think the top line of the profile should be straight, without a curve, and the clip should terminate about where the drop begins in the blade.

But, you know what they say about opinions!

by the way, what design/graphics program do you employ to do that on your computer? I'd like to try that myself.

Thanks for the input. The top is the original and the bottom is the final version. I lengthened the spine, used the narrower blade, changed the guard and lengthened the handle.

I am using Adobe Illustrator.
