Poor Boy Minimalist

I'm trying are to become a minimalist...keep it simple!  Every year my fanny pack seems to get larger.  Then each day I hunt I try to weed out things I'd like to have...but don't need.  Now my confession as a bladesmith...I do not carry a blade on my belt when deer hunting from a tree stand.  It's just uncomfortable with my safety harness.  There it's out of the closet.  Now back to being simple...my fanny pack " minimalist" no frills deer skinner.

OAL seven inches 1084 with No handle and No preset up to add a handle.  You could add a para-cord wrap but remember I'm cutting everything to the bare bone in my pack so the metal handle is textured.

It is also forged minimally.  Everything you see is hammer forged with just one forging cycle.  Then the lines are cleaned up & blade ground.  Very simple blade...tippit

I take it you make knives either as a profession or as a hobby.  If this is true what would you want for something like this?

The sheath is just to cover the blade with no belt loop...nothin' like you make

As a side note:
I purposely made this so I couldn't be tempted to add a handle.  But adding a para-cord wrap takes less then 5 minutes...like lacing up your shoes.  The one trick to para-cord is the top knot.  With the lanyard hole you can simply slip the para-cord ends through & tie an over hand knot.  OR finish off the the end with a single through and a drop of thin super glue.  I then cut the loose ends very close with a utility knife blade heated red hot.  That sears the ends closed & flush to the wrap.  The knot won't slip and you can cut it off whenever you need to replace the cord...tippit

Jeff, Thats why I like that whole package. It's all about function.

If you could see all my using gear it's as plain as can be, including my saddle. Function first is the best rule in my book. I do have some sheaths with no belt loop and like you it goes in my pack.

I do make lots of leather gear that has plenty of chicken scratching on it. The customers want it and it's mostly for looks. The only purpose for stamping, using the function first rule, would be to cover flaws in leather.

You have covered function with that package. Again great job.
