Christmas Bocote Hunter
« on: December 18, 2012, 11:30:00 AM »
I've been practically stuck in the shop for two weeks.
And it ain't over.
Here's one for a fella's Christmas tree for his son.
W1 blade and stabilized Bocote handle all done up in take-down fashion.

Back to the shop.

your pics are to wide please resize and post again thanks.
When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

That is beautiful.  That has three of the things I want to try this next year:  flat grinding, bocote and a hamon.  Bocote is one of my favorite woods on a knife, and for some reason I have never used it on one of mine.

I wish I was stuck in the shop.  I'm stuck on a pipeline construction project, hoping we'll finish up Friday so I won't have to work the weekend or Christmas.

one of the greatest compliments I can give as a knife maker to another is that I could see one of your hunters from across the room and say with certianty...  thats a Karl Anderson hunter.

I have seen some knives across my room and said, "those are Karl Andersen hunters!" And I was right. Another beauty, Karl. I like it when you get stuck in your shop -- good things come out of it, even if you don't!!!!    :D

Hmmmm... I kinda like being stuck in the shop some days, like when it's hovering around zero outside...   ;)

Nice knife by the way.

Doug, looks like I'm going to have a couple weeks straight of that very scenario soon.

That's another beautiful knife Karl. It reminds me of the one I got from you.
