« on: May 03, 2013, 07:50:00 PM »
I have a guy that can order steel for me but he has call 5 different places to try and get me 5160 and they don't have it what other steels can I use to make knives. Also what steels to use for hawk and axe heads. I am trying to come up with a list for him so that he can try and find me some steel. He is a small local business so I am trying to give him my business plus he has an anvil an forge I might be able to get if I butter him up. Please help me with a list of steels for knives.

I did back in March, He has a forge that was his grandpa that has been converted to an electric blower, and the anvil I am not sure about. But he said that grass was growing all around them and up threw the forge table. They are out in his metal yard, I told him that I would put them back into use and not let them continue to rust and not be used. He said he would think about it.
