Katalox Bowie
« on: July 01, 2013, 10:41:00 AM »
First time ive used any of this wood, Katalox, in a Bowie.  Its hard to see in the pics, but it has a nice dark brown base color, with some black "tiger" stripes.

Still need to touch up the guard a bit, and apply a few more coats of finish on the wood.

I love seeing your big creations. You said in another forum you were researching riser woods when you found this wood, did you ever get a riser made with this wood in it? If so I would love to see it. Again, great knife. Thanks for sharing.

Chris

hi Chris, no riser made yet,  I do have 1 block that is plenty big enough for recurve or longbow.  Not sure if I will ever get around to getting a bow made from it though!
