Finally a Knife I will Wear
« on: August 13, 2013, 10:11:00 AM »
I do occasionally wear my knives but not much as even my 7 1/2" blades seem big on my belt.  So I had an interesting forging lesson with a small piece of scrap Damascus.  I forge rather than stock removal...that's what caused most of my problems with this blade.  Every time I hit it on edge, the steel started to delaminate.  So I had to keep re-welding it multiple times during the forging process...good learning technique but a bit frustrating   :knothead:    By forging, the final Damascus pattern is a crap shoot as to what it will look like in the end.  Here is my Mini Damascus belt blade...6" OAL random Damascus.  tippit

Looks like a handy blade.  I like smaller blades they seem to be more useful.
