Giving it a try...
« on: January 30, 2014, 11:52:00 PM »
Been a while since I've bben here. Two boys in three sports each. I'm sure most has been there. Anyway, you all helped teach me to build bows, here. Now I've decided to try knife making. Was sure I could get some help here, too. I have two started out of 1084 high carbon. Almost ready for heat treat.

Welcome to the addiction  :) . This place got me started, too. Made a bow, then saw all these amazing knives and decided to give it a try. Way more addicting than any other hobby I've had...  Enjoy the fun.

Thanks. Off to a slow but sure start. Got to make a couple mods to my grinder/sander. I use a craftsman 4x36. Going to attach an 1/8 in piece of steel to aid getting a good ricasso and going to fab a new / bigger platform for tool / steel rest. Then make a forge. But I'm in no hurry. Can't be. Two boys in basketball and baseball practice for the oldest starts in a few weeks.
