L6 pack axes
« on: April 22, 2014, 11:22:00 AM »
I just realized I never shared pics of these here!
This is a brand new design for me. These are a lighter weight hawk geared more towards hunters/backpackers/bushcrafters.
These are made from the ultra tough L6 carbon steel and shaving sharp! These cut wood like a son of a gun!!
OAL will be about 11 3/4" with a 3 3/4" cutting edge.
There is a WIP in my forum, if you want to see more pics.

This one has black Tero Tuf scales (Crazy durable stuff).

I don't do very many hawks/axes with smooth scales, but I know some people prefer them. The hand filed groove adds some texture and style.

Here is another one in scalloped OD green g10. This one has a little character in the mill scale on the head, I may just keep or sell it at a discount.

There is a piece of fuzz or something on the lower tube in this pic.

Here is how the sheaths are setup.

Those look very handy!
When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Great idea with those scalloped textured handles. Artistic and functional.

Those axes are just exquisitely beautiful & also appear very functional as well . No wonder they sold out !!
