White Iron Hunter
« on: May 28, 2015, 08:21:00 AM »
A design I formulated in 2008 directly after getting my JS certification.
Named after a Lake in the Boundary Waters Wilderness - White Iron.
Forged from large round stock of W1 and finished off with a hamon.
Black canvas Micarta, stainless guard and built in take-down fashion.

(That second picture has little specs of rain on it.)

When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Nice work Karl. I like the blade profile, a little different. Handle looks like a comfortable fit.

I had made this one over the Winter and someone who follows my work said he thought it might look good in Micarta.
So, when I see him in Atlanta, I'm going to waive the new one under his nose.
