5" Integral Fighter
« on: August 20, 2015, 01:18:00 PM »
A Japanese sword collector/dealer asked me to make him a 5" fighter at the last Oregon Knife Show. Not my cup of tea, but he challenged me to use somewhat different construction technique than "normal", so I became interested. D2 tool steel (Rockwell 60.5) with stabilized redwood burl handle inserts.

Mike, that is most interesting!  Really great job on that, you should be proud.  I can't stop looking at it!

That is one of the coolest fighters I've ever seen.

Really nice looking knife. Something different from the other fighter designs posted here.

Thank you fellas. Customer's exact words were:
"Make me something that I don't already have in my collection". When you are creatively challenged like that, you can not help but get a little excited.

I've always wanted to attempt an integral like this. You knocked it out of the park. Great work.
