I.C.C.E. Knives
« on: September 11, 2015, 07:55:00 PM »
thought I might toss up some photos of things I'll be taking along to the International Custom Cutlery Expo next weekend.
First up is a little hunter. A W2 blade with a hamon, and a chunk of the nicest Ironwood I have ever had.
It has these "squiggles" than run all through it. It really is just amazing.

This is the second knife that I have completely done.
A San Mai Bowie with some type of Acacia handle material. The guy in Atlanta had it labeled "Tasmanian Blackwood", so.........it must be.
420 Stainless steel over 1095 tool steel core, hot-blued guard.

And followed by some sheath work I have done.

When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

They look fantastic Karl, wish I could attend the show.

You have a great show!

Also, I meant to comment on the canoe that you built, you posted it somewhere recently.  That was amazing!

One I call my S.O.B. (Short Occasional Bowie).
Hot-blued single twist blade with stainless take-down hardware and stabilized Feather Walnut.

That first one is really doing it for me... The ironwood is absolutely fantastic. I'd have almost had a hard time using it and just wanted to put it on a shelf to look at  ;) . But I think it's a lot better use on one of your knives.
