Southwestern Green River Style Knife

Just playing around with some punky burly Walnut with voids.  Stabilized Walnut with super glue and filled voids with Turquois sand...tippit

That turned out great!

That turned out fantastic.  Even as a fellow knifemaker, I still would like to have that one!

I love the lines and proportions.  It looks like a very well balanced blade in the hand and visually speaking the blend between forged flats and refined grinds and burly walnut and turquoise fillings are just really eye catching.

Not to sound all artsy but I also really like how you have taken punky, flawed wood and utilized it to make something functional, beautiful, and unique.  To me, this is one of the most impressive skills a knifemaker can have and its one that simply can't be taught.  As a woodsman or an artist you've got to be able to make the best of what your given and sir, this knife did just that.

Very nice knife! I did the same thing with some mesquite burl a few years ago and loved it. Now I find myself looking for wood with voids!

I really like that a lot Jeff!
What glue did you mix with the turquoise?
To my eye that adds a nice flare in a way that still belongs. Well done sir:)

That is sweet, Jeff!
When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.
