Well done! Does Black Widow put the snake skin backing on the bow?

I'm not sure yet. I'm going to have them tanned and then make up my mind.

Those things are so spooky.  How in the world did you pull that off?  We had a problem w/ a couple of them at our pond a few summers ago and it took me FOREVER to get them w/ a shotgun.  What is the story?

We go out at night and try to time it for the low tide. We put along the shore line and use 9 volt flashlights to spot for them. Some times it works out well. We usually see quite a few of them. We've had them run into the boat at times.

That one was mid to high 60's. Didn't put it on a scale, just compared it to others that we knew the weight. I should really start keeping track of their weights.

curlis, do you eat the vension. Redently I saw a film on a dvd that came with my German hunting magazine I subscribe. The film was about beaver hunting in Finland. Even the meat within the tail can be eaten and according to the hunter should be the most delicious part of the beaver.

I know this is an old thread, but I had to respond to the fellows question about eating beaver meat.  I trapped beaver growing up.  They actually are very good.  Just be sure and get ALL the fat and 'second skin' off.  It is NASTY!!  They make great stew meat and barbecue.  About 12 hours on a good smoke and the meat will fall apart.
