Daughters new bow...
« on: August 17, 2008, 04:13:00 AM »
I have made some bows for the Daughter over the last year or so but they have been kids bows and she has asked if I could make her a "Grownup type bow" as she is Eleven now and not a kid.  :)
I just finished a air hose type form so I thought it would be a great time to make her that new bow and try out the form at the same time.I also used the opportunity to try some new ideas I had with staining bamboo laminations as a cheaper option to exotic timber. She wanted camo like a T/Hawk longbow so I had my work cut out for me.Anyway it has come out great I think and she loves it even though it has bean called ugly by some of the more trad guys in Auz because of the colours. It shoots a 470 grain arrow at over 125 FPS and it is only 30 pound so that good too.
Cheers KIM
