76er Bear takedown recurve

Guys I need some help here. Today a guy called me and asked if I could repair the lower limb of a 76er Bear takedown recurve. I asked what the problem was and he replied that there was a long crack in the middle section of the limb as well as a large damaged area at the side of that limb. I told him that I'm no expert in fixing that but it is likely that the limb is toast. He then said if I knew someone who has a set of (black) limbs for this bow in the range of 50-55#.
So here it is: Is there anyone on this forum who can help me out with this one?

I think your right about the toast part...And I don't think they ever made black factory limbs for the 76er,maybe the minuteman,but pretty sure no 76ers.But a good used 76er is well under 100.00 and it may be best to look for another bow in the weight he wants and a can of flat black spray paint.....bowdoc

they were solid fiberglass limbs -weren't they?
I remember the hand shock on them was teeth shattering ...  :(  

I have one that actually is my sons; that Fred signed. A limb twisted on it.

I have a Bear Takedown Hunter that as far as I know was the same as the 76er. The tip on one of my limbs cracked but the other one is solid. They're brown, however. I just checked them out and it looks like the lower one is the good one. It has a sticker/writing that says extra heavy limb, use 50# arrow and someone scratched in EXH 65. If it's something he can use let me know. You can have it for the cost of shipping. FYI.

A 76'r limb is all fiberglass.  The limb mentioned is probably not fixable.  The dark brown/green limbs usually made a 45# bow.  There were also other limb colors usually representing lighter bow weights.

In the past, I've owned three of these bows.  They're actually pretty good shooters and great for fishing.  I can't remember any hand shock, but everyone feels handshock differently.
