Gluing Skins on Bamboo, Advice!
« on: August 28, 2008, 09:20:00 PM »
I plan on gluing some diamondback skins on my bamboo backed osage bow.  Is it ok to glue on raw boo, or should I put some finish on the bamboo before gluing the skin on?
I plan on using Titebond.

What do ya think?

Thanks, Steve AKA Tillerboy

Done it, it works fine on raw boo. Just make sure you don't have any sharp or abrupt edges on the boo, and scuff it up with something like 120 grit sandpaper. If you've trapped the bamboo, just feather the skin into the trapped edge, looks great. Titebond II or III is my glue of chice.
