sinew backing
« on: September 13, 2008, 07:12:00 PM »
I have a recurve with some cosmetic blemishes on the backing and the belly. Is it possible to apply some sinew backing on both sides and how much poundage will it gain, because it could stand more for my taste. The bow is AMO 60 at 50#

I have never heard of anyone adding wieght to a recurve with a backing material, but that ain't saying it can't be done. If they are just cosmetic probles you could add Skin-eze or real snake skins.

Adding sinew to your glass bow would add physical weight and probably slow the recovery quite a bit....if it would even stick to the FG. Like Dano said a decorative backing will cover up the blemishes.      Pat
