Where to find Ipe??
« on: October 20, 2008, 07:26:00 PM »
Looking for a couple of Ipe staves, no floor tillering, backing or anything, just the staves.
I have a bunch of Hickory staves and bamboo backings I got deals on but I want to make some bows with a nice contrasting wood between the Boo and Hickory.
Looked at most of the vendors I could find, but no one seems to offer any qtys on just the staves.

Thanks
Danny

Ipe is a common decking on high dollar houses. Check with your local lumber yards.     Pat

Yeah, and you are looking for boards, not staves, exactly.

Since it is imported from So. America, you should have not trouble finding it in your neighborhood, or a short drive away.  I live in Salt Lake City, Ut. and I have three or four places I can buy it here.

I've got some.  What size are you looking for?
