plains quiver.

i am building a plains style quiver,
bow in top, arrows on bottom.
i am working with a large impalla hide (furr on) i have many other african animals i could use but i think this impalla will look the best! any ways im a rather long winded young man ha ha.
so to the point! are there any tips you may have for putting it together?

i was thinking about makeing the bow tube from the center of the hide, its the thickest and will give the best protection, its also long enough to make with just one 50" x 10" pice.
 i was then going to take the sides of the hide that is left over from the bow tube to cross stitch together for the quiver, i want it to be a quiver with two fur out pices serounding a furr off pice of wildabeast hide with a picture of a bald eagle burnt on to the out side of the fur off pice. im finding it hard to explain, but i think it will look amazing if i do it correctly. ill post pics of what i have by tonight... but any tips or pointers would be well taken!

cool! im inspired... i had to do a little midification on mine. its fur out on the bow tube (a dark impalla)and the actual arrow quiver is also fur out but i dident have large enough scraps left so it is a light Gemsbock haunch (thicker than longhorn hide though) it looks ok. i havent put it all together yet just made the tubes. ill try to get picks here in a bit...

ok well here are the pics....
like i said, i have changed the idea alot over the past day or so, i will make my first idea in a few weeks but i figured i needed a more hunting capable quiver in this case, so here is what i have after about 3 hours of work...

here is the skin i started with,
 

and here is what i got out of it when i was done, its 54" X 5".
 


there wasent enough (good) leather on the side flaps for me to make the actual quiver so im going to make some pouches exc...

i ended up makeing the quiver out of a gemsbuck flank pices but its about 1/2-1/3" thick depending on where your checking so its basicaly perfect for protecting the tips and fletching, i lines the inside bottom half with thick rabit fur to protect points though. 24" X 6-10" i cut the photo off a bit short but you get the idea,

 

im going to tray and find the time to finish it by saterday but who knows with my to do lists ha ha
