Ben Pearson Bow

Question, Have a Ben Pearson bow that needs some refinishing..My question is What was used ORIGNALLY?
Background; The bow is over 30 years old and part of the wood on the riser & tips of the limbs have no finish on them. Not sure what it was sun baked, water damage or just old age have taken there toll. I started to clean the finish with "new modern mineral spirits" part of the finish was remove, not really a bad thing as I want to put a new finish on it anyway.
I want to bring the bow back to almost new. I can use any number of finishes, Spar Varnish, Polyurathane or whatever.

I have no idea what was used originally, but I've used Tru-Oil with good results.

I refineshed a stalion with Polyurathane and it lookes good. Not sure what the original finish may have been though.

I've refinished mine with basic polyurethane. It works great.
