Adjusting bow form

Ive made several forms now. I laminate plywood, make a template and cut them out with a router. In my newest form, Ive got a 1/16th + of limb twist in one side. Im not sure if the formica strip caused it or if my route is poor. Im thinkin its the formica cause I double and triple check this area before I applied the formica with contact cement.

Anyone got a good way of removing this formica strip? Ive been chiseling it for a while now and its not very much fun. Should I just move my template down and route it out.

Working on another form, with my same limb profile( seems to perform well) and gonna try a forward handle design. See if I can get a little more performance.

Can you heat it to see if the glue gives? Most glue will,but never tried it with contact cement..........

My  hat is in the same ring as Kennym  What I would do is use a heat gun to heat the form and the formica and a knife to spread the two apart.  To take the remaining contact cement off you may need to use lacquer thinner.  Then check to make sure that your square is square.  May sound crazy but I have found brand new squares at Home Depots/Lowes... that were not square.

Thanks guys. I heated it up and it came off easier.

It was my pattern bit with the roller bearing, cuts a little outa square. Went with a straight bit and adjusted my pattern to recut the form using the base plate as a guide and it came out true. Only took off an 1/8th to fix it.
 Went back and tested all my squares just to be safe.
 
Here its all ready for new formica strips. Thats my new forward handle form on the left and on top. Same working limb profile with a minor tweak here and there. I know Im not doin anything that hasnt been done, but sure is fun!!!

It takes guts to make your own design even if it has been done before.  It is something I am planning on doing this building season.

Im right there with ya Kenny! Made three bows on the "crooked" form before I stripped everything off it and found the problem. I thought it was me layin the bow out or somethin    
One of these days I will be on the reflex side instead of the deflex side of the learning curve.  :confused:  
Alot of my buddies dont understand. I hear alot of," whatcha gonna do with another bow " and " how many bows can you shoot". They havnt put it together yet that to be a bowyer you have to master certain aspects of bow building. One day....One day, It will all come together, and when it does....you guys will be the first to know!!
