Bow Identification?
«
on:
February 04, 2007, 05:02:00 PM »
I have just acquired an old recurve bow and I need help identifying who made it. It has a sticker on the limb that says "CHEATAH", and on the riser it has: CHB
64"
41
28"
7A508
Does anyone know anything about it?

I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure it is a Ben Pearson. Of course I have no proof, I just seem to remember Pearson making one. 7A508 kinda looks like a BP # too.

Thanks! What would the CHB stand for? By the way, I forgot to mention, it is laminated with green glass and has a leather handle.

It is probably an American Archery Cheatah, though I do not think that is the way it is spelled. Only company I have heard of with that model. But who knows, been wrong before.

The spelling gets me. I know Ben Pearson made a "CHEETAH"---I got lost with "CHEATAH". If it is spelled with an "EA" then Danny gets the nod.
Do you have pics? Google "ben pearson cheetah" (in quotations) and see if you get a match.

I may be wrong about the spelling. The paper sticker had been painted over with the limbs. I removed most of the paint but with the wrinkled sticker and paint residue, it's hard to read. You guys might be correct.

You guys were right,(as usual). I looked at it under my loop and it does say Cheetah. So it's an American Archery bow. Are they still in business?
