Keep working, I would imagine your son would love it. My first child (a boy) is due on 2nd febuary and if he is ever interested in archery I would love to be able to make a good bow for him.

What is a BBH Bow?

Kind Regards
David

That is a bamboo backed hickory bow. Feb. 2nd is my son's birthday! He will be 12 yo. That is Groundhog's Day here in the U.S. I tell him the groundhog is his spirit guide.

Hey Brock! I've been looking into that hackberry thought. If you like it that much, I will have to give it a try!

Here are a couple of pictures of my boys bow. Still not finished. Needs a few more coats of Tru oil, etc.

The pics of the tips show the walnut tip..."under lays"? And the handle with some of the grain showing.

Thanks Kenny and Jeff and Happy New Year to you!

This "hickory" is from a board I bought at a hardwoods lumber yard. It has some beautiful dark streaks in it. I've had someone say that it might be pecan.

Nice looking bow Bona.         Please add some more pictures when you get done.

Most people can't tell Hickory and Pecan apart.  They are both of the genus Carya and there are 19 different species in this genus.
