Custom coin maker?
« on: February 06, 2009, 02:38:00 PM »
I'm thinking seriously about having some custom coins made to inset in my risers.  Do you guys have any sources that I should check out?

Through research, I have determined that a "die struck" 3/4" lapel pin is what I need.  Maybe copper or bronze would look great.  There are many, many suppliers though!!

Marty,
That is a good idea.  Ever since I saw the build along by RGK of his son's bow I thought that was a dandy addition to a project.
Let us know what you decide on.

Most are too large to fit my risers.  A quarter would be too big at almost an inch across.  I think it needs to be small, so it doesn't look like too much.  A dime is almost 3/4" and just a little smaller than what I need.

you might try custom coin makers who make coins for geocaching(treasure hunting with GPS). Or custom pin makers. Try crownawards.com or allaboutpins.com

Apex, try Trophy Shops for coins.  They should be able to design you anything you want.  We get our custom military coins from a big trophy shop here in OKC, OK.

Thanks guys!  I just got a quote from these folks: emblematics.com.  They will make me a lot of 100 @ 1.61 each.  Pretty good, I think.  I'm working on the design now.

Marty,

I did mine on a versa laser, using some left over phenolic.  It worked well but I agree, the coins would look much more professional.  I thought about have some done before the laser deal.  Tim
