lamation bow cracking sound

I have been building lamation bows for a long time I have noticed that after finished the first time I pull a new bow back to shot it I can hear a faint cracking shound the first 2 or 3 times I shoot it then it is as quiet as a mouse I have never had any thing happen been shooting these bows for 20 years and never had one brake with my system I use smooth on glue.

Are they zebrawood limbs? I had a couple do that and so did a friend of mine. We dont use Zebra anymore!

This is on red elm I thought it may be the glue did it ever hert any thing on your bows

Possibly the string creaking on the new finish?

It is a long bow we build our own bow tough with fiber glass and formica

formica makes a great backing if reinforced with fiberglass  the cracking sound when gone don't seem to hert the bows at all was just wandering what it was

I think the some of the Corvetta SP? Bros bows were backed with formica in the early 60's??
