Ok, I need some help

My takedown longbow has issues... the string does not track down the center of the bottom limb and is about 3/16" off to the left when looking at the grip from behind. I have looked at it unstrung with a string run from tip to tip and she looks straight. When I get it strung this is what I see.

I had some issues with getting the index pins centered on the limbs but finally got the limbs straight with the riser. I'm hoping this is just unevenly sanded edges causing one side to be stiff. Here are some more pics, see what you think.

As you are lookin at your photo I recommend deepening the string grove on the right side.  You probably will not be able to go far enough to completely fix the problem but it will help.  Next you will need to remove a little wood on the left side over the full length.  Do this just a bit at a time,  just a bit.  You may have to remove a bit of weight from the opposite lime to readjust tiller.  Hope this helps.  Bob

Ok thank you. I will give it a try. I do believe there is some excess wood left on that side. I need to lay my template on there to compare. This is a Bingham blue print by the way.

I wonder what the chances are of this working also:

Remove limb, then index pin from lower limb. Re attach limb and move limb slightly to the left as we are looking at it, the distance the string is off?

Then restring it and have a look. The pin alignment could be worse than I thought. (Hence my other post on hardware alignment on takedown bows)  I have some width to play with to true up the limb/riser line.

The further away from the pin the more degrees it will be off. Like degrees on a compass, at 100 yards 5 degrees is hardly noticeable but at 5 miles it may have you 1/2 a mile off your destination.

If it's the alignment pin, it should be obvious by laying the bow (unbraced) on a flat surface.  It's probably the pin, if you made the same mistake I did.  LOL  Mine was very sligth, perhaps 1/32" off at the pin and I more or less built the bow around it.  Fortunately I found my mistake before I cut the limb profiles or string nocks.  If you have enough to play with, you can just narrow the offending side, depending of course on how sever the misalignment.

I tried Bob's advice today and improved it quite a bit. The pins just slightly off as well but I think with a little more work on the side of the limb I can make it tolerable. It'll still bug me though!

The till er is 1/4" off now so now I have to lighten the top limb a little. I also cut the riser/sight window to center. That helped a whole lot too. Reduced the paradox a lot.
