linen backing

When using linen backing whith tb111 do I apply  the glue on top of the linen as well as between the bow and backing?

Size the bow first by thinning some glue with water and apply to a degreased back and let dry for awhile then apply some more to the back and then on top of the linen. Smoothing with a roller really helps make for a nice smooth job

Adding a linen backing with glue is the same principal as using fiberglass cloth and resin. The combo of the two is stronger than the individual parts. You want the linen to be saturated with glue for strength and also to prevent moisture from entering the linen. If you want a smoother surface texture add more glue over the top of the backing.
