Pin Knots Question
« on: May 15, 2009, 05:14:00 AM »
I am chasing a ring on an osage stave and I have 2 pin knots.  One in the handle, and one in the fade about an inch apart.  Do I still need to follow the ring above the knots or can I cut through them since they are not flexing much?  The design is for a non bending handle bow.  Also, I am expecting the string in the mail this weekend for my first bow.  I should be able to post pictures of it on Tuesday.

Always follow the ring.

If it doesn't bend, you don't have to worry about it.  If you think it is going to bend, even a little, then be diligent about keeping them in good shape.
Take a kid hunting!
