Osage "D" Bow
« on: May 25, 2009, 12:18:00 AM »
This bow is one that I have been needing to make for some time now. Like 25-30 years. You see when I was a teenager my brother started making bows and after completing his first hickory bow, that he was no doubt very proud of, he handed it to me one day and on the first pull... SNAP!! I will never forget the look on his face. I didn't know what to do... Now I do. I will be giving him this bow at our family reunion next month. It is 60"ntn and pulls 58# @ 26". The finish is Tru-Oil and the handle is buckskin that my brother gave me. Let me know what ya think.

Dano, you know better than even asking that question!
Very nice bow, John. I love the simple "D" bows and you did a great job on this one. Going slow is a must in wood bow building but I believe you could speed it up a bit! d;^)

Dano, I think we both were.   :bigsmyl:

Pat, I've built a few more than I've posted. Some just get away with out the time for posting pictures... I know, I know... Priorities.

Thanks for the comments.
