Finished a bow for my wife and son over the weekend. 72 inches nock to nock, 30 lbs at 28 inches and will draw 30 inches (so I can use it too). Used another good piece of home depot red oak! I'm really beginning to like this wood as it works well, and is predictable. I cut the limbs with a straight thickness taper...and a parabolic width taper. I used the "super-tiller" excel spreadsheet to predict the necessary thickness, but it came out more like 45 lbs....so I did some more figuring, thinned the thickness down the full length of the limb..and bingo...no iterative tillering required!

My son and I entered the target tournament at Scarborough Faire over the weekend and used this bow....those 15 shots a piece being the first arrows launched by this bow. I missed winning the tournament by one point, and missed the 8 week long running tournament high score by two points as well...so you could say I'm well pleased with this bow's performance.

Not seeing the pictures.   :(  

I like the idea of getting close, if not dead on, from the cutting pattern. I made a couple of bows that I thought would be close to each other in draw, one wide and thing, the other skinny and thicker. Not even close! I understand that getting the perfect profile will likely always require stopping short and tillering some by hand, but it would be nice if "short" was almost there.
