Bow string question

Hi I'm still not sure the best string to use for a self bow.
I've been using Dyneema, fishing line, and just wondering if it bad for the bow, due to the fact it has very little stretch.

I use B50 for all my selfbows.  Mostly it sounds like D97 and 8125 and 450 and 452 eats the nocks first.  But they have to be harder on the limbs.

B50 poly is the safe way to go.

I've been using TS1 on selfbows and wood/boo lam bows with no problem.  Shape the string nocks correctly and you won't have problems either.

Thanks a lot guys. I know a lot of these products are made here in Taiwan, funny enough I can't find an archery shop over here, there are knife shops that sell the odd bow but finding the products you guys mentioned is near impossible.
Are there any other simple easy to find strings, that I could use?
If not I'll have to order some from the States.
Oh yes, the Dyneema is it bad for the bow ?

Well, I would definately use horn nocks or something.  Dyneema is basically 8125.

D97 is all I use on my self bows. Whether the nocks are just plain wood or horn it works great!
6 strands for a 50# bow is perfect.

Wow, I am surprised to hear that.  I am not doubting you.  I have had D97 cut thru glass on a older zipper limbs that was not fast flight compatable.  Bill Dunn looked at them for 2 seconds and said "I bet you been shooting fastflight".

Well, I have been shootin f.f. on my selfbows since about 1991 without issues. Now I have 450 premium on a blacklocust and D-97 on BBO bows. Can't think of a reason not too. Alot of others doing the same! Good shootin, Steve

Again thanks a lot guys. I see the 450 premium has dyneema in it.
In that case my dyneema fishing line should be fine, I'm not too worried about the knocks, I was more worried about the shock on the bow it's self.

Yup..the notion that fast flight type materials cannot be used on selfbows without overlays is an old fashioned myth that has been blown out of the water. I have been using them and with properly made loops and fewer strands they sure do shoot quieter

I have a little osage selfbow that Dano sent me that has FF string on it and no tip overlays. Doesn't seem to harm the wood at all. It might effect softer woods adversely.
  I personally prefer B-50 for all the bows I make.
