Balsa?

Has it ever been used as a core wood? Result?

I thought of the same thing. Using it instead of foam core, but it might be too soft.

Core wood has to be strong enough to withstand the stresses between the back and belly. Balsa wouldn't be able to take there stresses.

I thought about it also,but like Pat,I didn't think it would take the stress. Also thought  about catalpa,but figured it would be about the same!
