« on: July 20, 2009, 11:42:00 PM »
I have some KennyM osage lams in the work shop that have been baking in the oklahoma heat for a while now. Can they be too dry to use in a BBO?

Not really. Osage should be super dry when you work with it.

No the resins and oils dose not alow it to get to dry.I went to KANASA and deer hunted and the fellow down the road built bows so I had to see him.He had O'sage bows that he made from 125 year old fence post he'd pulled up that his grandfather had planted. He said he got 7 staves out of it and all 7 bows were great and stll shooting as far as he knew. One was 82 pounds how cool is that.
I've been back a couple time and he told me he's pulled up others sence then and built bows.I have no reason to think he lieing.

I would think with the humidity back there, they still won't be too dry.

Anything can be too dry, even in a lam bow, but in most cases you;'d have to try with osage.
