Beautiful Osage Log
« on: August 29, 2009, 11:01:00 AM »
Recently my brother in-law (also a trad. archer and bowyer) stumbled across this osage tree while stump shooting.  It yielded about 20 staves (not all shown).  14 of these were just fantastic...straight, knot-free, good early growth/late growth ratio, etc.  Each stave averaged 76"-78".  When we actually get around to making some bows out of them, I'll be sure to post the pictures.

I guess if we run into the bear that is making these tracks, we oughta just get off the trail.......He seems to like it!
