Chupa,
this was our third year attending the TN Classic Selfbow Challenge. Mason built two hickories for the first two. This year one of Mason's mentors, Anthony Hayner gave Mason and his bud Skyler a osage stave. Did not get to start it during the Classic so we went back up to Twin oaks a few weekends and built this as a father / son team with careful oversight by Big A, Greg, and Pappy.

We just finished it today. Mason has been putting multiple coats of finish on over the past few days and sewed the grip on this morning. The way the grip turned out it is almost centershot for a righty. Anthony and Greg helped us get the antler tips started and we were able to finish them. Cannot thank the Twin Oak boys enough for all the mentoring they have shown us.

Got a dozen woodies drying now that we built from bareshafts. Hope to get his first trad deer with this setup. What little he has shot it, he can shoot the lights out with it. It is DEAD silent, even without the beaverballs. Wish him luck !

dutch,
yep, them are deer antler tips. Greg showed me how to do the top limb, then went to cook fried apple pies for supper while I did the lower limb to match. Since this was our first set of antler tips Mason watched me rough them in and then I let him finish them.
